Criss Cross Card Swap

These cards are for the Criss Cross Card Swap I found at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com. If you would like to try making one, you can find the tutorial for a card like this here. I couldn't decide just what to do so I took a walk on the beach and then it came to me...why not make a beach card? Using the Cuttlebug with the Swirls embossing folder to make the waves was an easy decision. I used Tempting Turquoise paper from Stampin' Up and used white paint dry brushed on to the paper to highlight the "waves". The beach side was stamped and embossed on Creamy Caramel also by Stampin' Up. Small holes were made in the "sand" with an exacto knife so I could put the surfboards in. The surfboards are actually flower petals from the Pick a Petal. The sun was punched with the Stampin' Up scallop punch. To see the "how to's" click here. Had to add all the glittery with yellow Stickles. What kind of sun would it be if it wasn't all shiny? :-) The bottom right corner of the pull out card has a cute pair of sandals and the words, "You Are My Sunshine" stamped. Makes me think of a wonderful summer day at the beach.
